Miss May I New Haven Concert reviews
Kevin Hart
"I saw Miss May I at AAC several years ago and I feel like the set up distracted her. At that concert, there was a stage in the middle of the floor and then there were chairs placed on the floor along the 4 sides of the stage. She had to keep turning to try and face each group, which I think threw her timing off. She was not that funny and it was a little bit of a disappointment. This time I thought her set was a little shorter than I expected, pretty close to a little more than one hour. I was disappointed by everything that preceded Miss May I. First of all, I could not understand most of what those 3 comics were saying. I don’t know if it was acoustics or what, but I missed most of what they were saying. The first one came on at 7:45, when it was stated that the show began promptly at 7:00. When this guy is done, then Miss May I, right? NO, there were 2 more. Combined those 3 were on stage more than Miss May I, which was too much. The last guy who was self-named a “star” (naimthestar) constantly drank from a cup, which I found very distracting. Miss May I was awesome! She did not disappoint. I don’t think I would go again just because the majority of the time was allotted to those 3 unknown and, in my opinion, not that funny comics."
